Hi everyone! My name is Sophia Wojdak and I am 17 years old. I am so incredibly grateful and happy to be representing my great city at Miss Teenage Canada 2020! I am also very excited to be representing the great provice of Alberta at the national pageant! This is my very first blog post, so I wanted to let you know a few little facts about me!
I am a 12th grade student at W.P Wagner Institute of Science and Technology (graduating class of 20′ I feel your senior blues) and am an active member of my school community. I am an honours student who has a great love for the arts and literature, which influenced my school involvement.
Being a published member of my school’s Edmonton Journal Cappies theatre critic program has been amazing, as is writing for the NYC based Teen Magazine (I’ve ever written an article on pageantry!) I’m an art nerd, and a member of my schools Improv team, as well as our Advanced Acting and Production Program. I also wrote and directed a play for my school’s one act program in the winter! This love of the arts community inspired my platform which I will get into in a later post! Miss Teenage Alberta was my first big pageant, and it was more amazing than I could have dreamed. I met some of my pageant heroes and so many inspirational women were my fellow competitors. I can see long term and amazing friendships with some of these girls in the future and I am so excited. I have had a great time connecting with the other inspiring women competing at MTC this summer over social media these past few weeks and cannot wait to meet them! It is incredible to see how much social media can connect us even as Covid-19 keeps us physically apart.I am so excited for this journey and cannot wait to share more with all of you!
P.S I am also a huge animal lover, and I have 5 dogs and 2 cats! Take a look at some!
