Hey Everyone! I am Mia, 14 year old small town girl. I am beyond astonished I got the amazing opportunity to travel a 12 hour drive to Calgary to compete in Miss Teenage Alberta. Pageantry has always been an interest to me, but living so far in the north there was no exposure to anything of the such, until one of my closest friends brought the idea of Miss Teenage Canada to me. It is such a great feeling to be representing Northern Alberta in Nationals!
Beats and Balls
I have a crazy passion for sports, over my years I have played Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Figure Skating, Competitive Swimming, Competitive Dancing, Sprints in Track and Field aswell as Gymnastics. Back again with living in a small town there is a fair bit of travel to do for events, but travelling with your team is all part of the fun!
A Passion for Paws
I have grown up with dogs always in the house, but every and all animals interest me in so many ways. I have met and held many snakes, ridden a couple horses, played with TONS of puppies and kittens as well as handled many reptiles. I’ve also had many different species of fish. Currently I have a Veiltail Betta named Popeye who I bought in December of 2018, and a Black Labrador Retriever names Asha who my family recieved in November of 2019.
I enjoy learning and school is a great time for me. I have received Honors with Distinction for the past 4 years. In my lower elementary years when it was offered I always chose to participate in Public Speaking and Science fairs very often placing well. I would like to attend university to later become a sports therapist!
Thank you for spending the time to read my first blog, and supporting my journey to Miss Teenage Canada 2020
